The countdown is on for the highly anticipated 2025 POTRAZ Innovation Expo and Conference, set to run from 29 July to 1 August at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Grounds in Bulawayo.
Organised by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), this over-subscribed annual event continues to transform Zimbabwean innovators, start-ups, technopreneurs, fintechs, hubs, disruptors, and unicorns into formidable local and global tech brands.
Following a recent extension of the submission deadline to 5 July 2025, innovators were invited to showcase cutting-edge products, services, and technologies under this year’s theme:
“Accelerating the Digital Economy: Building Localized Capacity, Global Partnerships, and Leveraging Open Technologies for Sustainable Development.”
*Who Was Eligible?*
Submissions were open to:
1. Zimbabwean citizens aged 13 to 50
2. Local innovators, technopreneurs, students, researchers, and members of incubation/innovation hubs
3. Participants from public and private sectors in Zimbabwe
4. Innovators and entrepreneurs from ITU member states under the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development

The four-day expo is designed to:
1. Empower and showcase local innovation talent
2. Foster regional and international partnerships
3. Promote the adoption of open and emerging technologies
4. Champion innovation for sustainable development

1. Smart Cities & Sustainable Infrastructure
2. Innovations in urban planning, smart utilities, and intelligent telecom systems.
3. Fourth Industrial Revolution & Environmental Conservation
4. Smart solutions for mining, manufacturing, and eco-friendly waste management.
5. AgriTech & Food Security
6. Technology-driven agricultural innovations to boost food sustainability.
7. FinTech & Economic Growth
8. Financial technologies promoting inclusive economic growth and resilience.
