NetOne has aligned its anti-drug campaign with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 agenda, saying a healthy, productive and empowered youth population is non-negotiable for national development and economic growth.

“Zimbabwe’s journey towards Vision 2030 depends on healthy, productive and empowered young people,” NetOne Public Relations Spokesperson Ernest Magadzire said as the operator launched new campaign material linking drug-free lifestyles to national prosperity.

The poster shows youth across key sectors: a healthcare worker, engineer, entrepreneur, student with a laptop, and athlete. Magadzire said the imagery reflects NetOne’s belief that Zimbabwe’s future will be built by educated, innovative, entrepreneurial and active young people.

“Drug and substance abuse threatens our nation’s progress by affecting education, health, employment and community development,” he warned. The campaign frames drug abuse not just as a health issue, but as a direct threat to infrastructure, innovation and Vision 2030 targets.

NetOne is pushing four youth pillars: Educated Youth to build knowledge and shape the future; Innovative Youth to create solutions and drive progress; Entrepreneurial Youth to create jobs and grow the economy; Active Youth for strong bodies, strong minds and a strong nation.

The operator said digital platforms are central to the fight. Through voice, data, mobile money and connectivity, NetOne will distribute awareness content, zero-rate educational resources, and signpost support services for those affected by substance abuse.

Magadzire stressed that “every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, innovate, create and prosper”. He argued that technology must enable opportunity, not expose youth to harmful content or predatory online spaces.

The campaign is being rolled out in line with the National Drug and Substance Abuse Awareness Campaign, Vision 2030 and NDS2 “Leaving No One and No Place Behind”. NetOne said alignment with government policy ensures impact is measurable and sustainable.

“At NetOne, we stand with Government, communities and stakeholders in promoting healthy lifestyles and positive choices,” Magadzire noted. Partnerships with schools, NGOs and community leaders will drive on-the-ground activations across all provinces.

NetOne concluded with a call to action: “Say No To Drugs. Say Yes To Vision 2030.” Magadzire said the message is simple: empowered youth equal a prosperous nation, and a prosperous nation delivers a better tomorrow for all Zimbabweans.
