First impressions make lasting impressions and while dazzled by the competitiveness of Zimbabwean startups, Seedstars comes back to the country on a hunt for early stage startups to afford them an opportunity to compete for US$1 million. Impact Hub Harare will host the second edition of Seedstars pitch competition on October 27 at 194 Baines Avenue and Seedstars is calling for applications from interested startups to pitch their ideas.
Apart from the cool chance to contest for $1 million worth of investment, the winner is guaranteed of an all-expenses paid trip to Mozambique and Switzerland.
“Impact Hub Harare is excited to be hosting the second edition of the global start up competition Seedstars. Seedstars is back in Harare to find the most promising early stage start-up in Zimbabwe!
“Early stage start-ups will have the opportunity to compete for up to $1,000,000 worth of investment.
The winning startup will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits that include a tried and tested bootcamp and investor forum. It’s a catalytic platform for high growth emerging market start-ups.
“Participants can look forward to an event filled with disruptive tech, inspirational discussions, networking sessions and one flight ticket for the winner to come to Switzerland to compete for over US$1million in investment,” said
Dr Cadx’ Gift Gana who won last year said, “We engaged with lots of start-ups from Africa and other emerging countries who are using technology to create solutions to solve problems in our context.
“These range from healthcare, logistics, education, entertainment, transportation, connectivity, etc. So provided the entrepreneurship environment continues to be improved through constructive support from all stakeholders including the entrepreneurs, government, investors and corporates, we will see a strong tech economy in Africa.”
