Delta Corporation has reaffirmed its commitment to Zimbabwe’s human capital development, hosting its annual bursary induction at the Mandel Training Centre under the theme _“Educating Today’s Learners, Powering Zimbabwe’s Future.”_

The programme supports high-potential learners from underprivileged backgrounds, covering costs from A Level through to university. This year, 100 students are set to benefit.

Speaking at the ceremony, Delta Corporation General Manager for Corporate Affairs and company spokesperson Patricia Murambinda said the initiative is a direct contribution to the national development agenda.

“Delta remains committed to supporting Zimbabwe’s national development agenda by investing in education and skills,” Murambinda said. “Through this bursary programme, we are helping to protect learners’ potential from financial barriers and strengthen the country’s future workforce.”

She added that the theme reflects Delta’s belief that targeted support for deserving students is a practical way to build sustainable communities and a stronger economy.

*Two decades of impact*
Delta has run its education assistance programme for more than 20 years. The company provides school bursaries worth nearly USD 100,000 annually. To date, over 1,300 students have benefited, with total investment reaching approximately USD 2.1 million.

Recipients are selected in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to ensure bursaries reach talented students from underprivileged communities across all provinces.

*Beyond bursaries: a skills pipeline*
The bursary scheme forms part of Delta’s broader social investment and skills development ecosystem. The company has funded school infrastructure, including the construction of at least one classroom block in an underprivileged community.

Skills development is delivered through several arms:
– *Mandel Training Centre*: Management training and development
– *Delta Technical Institute (DTI)*: Artisan training across various trades
– *Driver Training School*: Heavy motor vehicle training
– *Graduate Development Programme*: Early-career talent development for professionals including doctors, engineers and financial experts
