Zimbabwe’s digital future is a priority, Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Hon. Tatenda Anastacia Mavetera, has declared. Speaking at the 2026 Postal and Telecommunications Stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting, Mavetera emphasized the need for collective action to drive the country’s digital transformation.
With “mobile penetration at 90% and internet penetration at 60% as of December 2025,” Mavetera highlighted the progress made in the ICT sector. However, she acknowledged the challenges that remain, including cybersecurity threats and the need for affordable devices.
The Minister called on stakeholders to partner with government to address these challenges and unlock the sector’s potential. She emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment for innovation and investment, citing the government’s efforts to improve the regulatory framework.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to engage with government officials and discuss policy issues shaping the future of Zimbabwe’s ICT sector.
