Avantis Technologies has launched the Parrot 1030i laptop, a locally assembled device that rivals international brands. The laptop is priced competitively and is expected to contribute to Zimbabwe’s e-learning initiatives and digital transformation.

The launch event was attended by senior government officials, industry captains, and media representatives.

“The Parrot 1030i is a symbol of Zimbabwe’s determination to become a tech hub,” said Hon. Tatenda Mavetera, Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services.

The laptop is a testament to Zimbabwe’s growing tech capabilities. “We must build products that can compete with international brands,” Mavetera said.

The Parrot 1030i is priced competitively, making it an attractive option for Zimbabweans. “The laptop’s local assembly will create jobs and stimulate economic growth,” Mavetera noted.

The minister emphasized the importance of digital inclusion. “We cannot meaningfully discuss e-learning without computers in schools,” Mavetera said.
