*Starlink Resumes Activations in Nigeria After Regulatory Pause

Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink, has resumed new customer activations in Nigeria following a temporary regulatory suspension, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has confirmed.

The service, operated by SpaceX, halted residential orders in November 2024 after reaching capacity limits and pending regulatory approval. During the pause, prospective customers were unable to complete orders for Starlink’s internet kits, as the activation process—which includes hardware delivery, installation, and connection to the satellite network—was temporarily frozen.

With infrastructure upgrades now in place, Starlink has expanded its network capacity and is once again accepting new activations, particularly in high-demand regions. The company, which already serves over 60,000 subscribers in Nigeria, is positioning itself to accommodate further growth as demand for reliable satellite internet continues to rise in Africa’s most populous country.
