Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Skills Audit and Development have signed an MOU to launch a Software Developer Skills Development Hub focused on delivering training in AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
The partnership is aligned with Zimbabwe’s Smart Zimbabwe Master Plan, AI Strategy, and National ICT Policy. It aims to close the country’s digital skills gap by offering world-class training, mentorship, and startup incubation to youth, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Under the deal, Liquid will supply its 110,000 km fibre network, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity solutions. The Ministry will facilitate collaboration with educational institutions and ensure the program supports national digital transformation objectives.
“This MOU is about creating a robust and sustainable skills development programme that is aligned with the needs of industry and the digital economy,” said Lorreta Songola, CEO of Liquid Zimbabwe. The model is being positioned as a replicable example of public-private collaboration for digital sovereignty in Africa.
