Adapting to market changes and trends, ZESA owned ICT solutions company Powertel will adopt the Telecommunications Media and Technology (TMT) model to grow the company.
Speaking at the launch of their Inaugural Classic Golf Tournament on Friday, Powertel Commercial director Willard Nyagwande said the company will be focusing on this model as it is the way to go.
“Powertel is moving on to the TMT model which is Telecoms Media and Technology. On media we will be focusing on content provision,” he said.
Nyagwande also said since inception the company has invested millions of dollars for its operations.
“We have invested millions of dollars in our operations so that we continue to give our client quality service.
Powertel was one of the handful telecommunications company remaining aloof when there was an internet blackout.
“We were one of the few companies that were still cruising when there was an internet glitch,” he said.
He also paid homage to their clients and partners who have stood with Powertel through the years.
The company also awarded best golf players with various prizes. There were over 100 golf players that attended the tournament.
Powertel is the aggregator for prepaid electricity in Zimbabwe. It recently launched a vehicle tracking system called Powertack.
