The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) is set to conduct a series of provincial sensitisation and awareness workshops on data protection and cyber security across the country. The initiative, running from late September to early December 2025, targets the general public, including senior citizens.

The campaign will kick off from 29 to 30 September 2025 and on 1 October 2025 at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) in Mashonaland West. This session is open to all members of the public. On 1 October, the event will also coincide with the International Day for Older Persons, focusing on cyber security and data protection for senior citizens at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Following the initial sessions, Mashonaland Central will host workshops at Bindura University of Science Education from 6 to 7 October 2025, with participation open to the public. Mashonaland East will follow with sessions at Marondera University of Technology from 5 to 6 November 2025.

The programme will continue in Matabeleland North at Lupane State University on 24 to 25 November 2025 and conclude in Matabeleland South at Gwanda State University from 4 to 5 December 2025, both open to the public.

The awareness trail aims to equip citizens with practical knowledge on protecting personal data, understanding cyber threats, and ensuring safe digital interactions. By targeting multiple provinces and diverse groups, POTRAZ seeks to strengthen the nation’s data protection culture and promote responsible digital practices.
