Kindergarten Computer Skills Showdown This Saturday

Over 70 kindergarten children lock horns for top honours at the Schools Computer Skills League to be held at Long Chen Plaza, Harare on Saturday.

The league meant to foster computer skills on children as early as three years is organized by Dzidzo inhaka E Learning Visuals.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is said to have endorsed this event as it syncs well with the new curriculum.

On the flyer of the event, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education will grace it.

“Best three winning students, their teachrrs and schools will be awarded with various prizes ranging from laptops, desktops, printers, computer consumables and other ECD related products from our partners,” said Dzidzo iNhaka director Shepherd Chimururi.

Adjudicating the competition are three judges with knowledge in ICTs and ECD.

“Three judges with vast knowledge of ICT and ECD will adjudicate the competion. Jusdges will access the child’s ability to follow instructions when executing the given task using a specific software application then go on to consider keyboard and mouse handling skills, eye-hand coordination, speed and time of completing a task,” said Chimururi.

Getting to see the event will cost $2 with those willing to shed their data bundles can do so as it will be livestreamed on TechnoMag’s Facebook Page and Youtube Channel .
