Ecocash in Temporary Shutdown

Over 6, 7 million Ecocash subscribers are set to be shut away from using Ecocash services on the back of an impending system maintenance to be done over the weekend.

Zimbabwe’s most subscribed mobile money platform Ecocash warned that the approaching shutdown happens from August 12 to August 13.

“We apologize that the Ecocash service will be unavailable from 2200 on12 Aug to 14 00 on 13 Aug due to a scheduled system maintenance being carried out,” the Econet-owned company notified its customers.

Ecocash Debit Card Launch

Ecocash recently reduced its transaction tariffs a move likely to increase the usage of the platform. It also reduced its monthly transaction limits for Debit card users a move that will not go down well with many of its customers. The company is engaging many banks to have integrated its services.
