Apple has announced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, introducing a redesign and new features centered on performance, durability, and advanced camera capabilities.
The new flagship models are powered by the A19 Pro chip, which works in tandem with a new thermally-conductive aluminum unibody and vapor chamber to deliver what the company calls its best-ever performance and an enormous leap in battery life.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be available in three new finishes, deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver.
Pre-orders begin this Friday, September 12, with availability starting Friday, September 19.
The new models feature an aerospace-grade 7000-series aluminum unibody enclosure, a departure from the titanium frame of previous generations.
This new design is said to improve thermal performance by integrating a laser-welded vapor chamber and a forged plateau that creates more space for internal components, including a larger battery.
Apple stated that the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers the best battery life ever on an iPhone.
The new chip features a 6-core CPU, a 6-core GPU with built-in Neural Accelerators, and more memory than the A18 Pro. Apple claims it provides up to 40% better sustained performance, making it ideal for gaming and running large language models.
The new phones feature three 48MP Fusion cameras (Main, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto) and a new 18MP Center Stage front camera with a square sensor.

The telephoto camera now offers an 8x optical zoom, the longest ever on an iPhone.
Pricing for the iPhone 17 Pro starts at SAR 5,199, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at SAR 5,699.
Both models will be offered with a new entry storage of 256GB.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will also be available in a new 2TB storage capacity.
Apple has introduced a range of accessories, including the new TechWoven Case, a Clear Case, a Silicone Case, and a new Crossbody Strap.
