Netone Lift ZITF Best Information Technology Sector Award

Telecommunications giant, NetOne swept aside stiff competition to top its category at the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo.
The mobile network provider emerged as the best in the information technology sector beating its competitors among them Econet and Telone, to lift the 2022 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) best Information Technology Award.

This year’s s trade fair was held under the theme, “Rethink, Reimagine, Reinvent Value Chains for Economic Development,” and there was a packed programme of conferences and seminars throughout the trade expo.

Competition in the information communication technology category was stuff as top companies in the sector went all out showcasing not only mobile phone services but also new innovations and other facets of technology.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the new phenomena of virtual meeting as well as provision of education through technology players in the industry have been forced re-think service provision.

Information and Technology players exhibited other facets such as gaming, virtual reality, e-learning, mobile money transfer and internet services.

President Mnangagwa together with Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Sekai Nzenza handed over a trophy and a certificate to NetOne CEO Mr Raphael Mushanawani and Mr Learnmore Masunda whose company was best in communication networks at ZITF awards ceremony Friday.

At its stand, NetOne had products such as a gaming room for virtual reality and a Smart Education booth where visitors were taken through how the application works.
