Standard Chartered Bank of Zimbabwe (SCBZ), who are a subsidiary of British multinational bank Standard Chartered Plc who announced on 8 June 2023 their agreement to sell their Zimbabwean stake
to FBC Holdings Limited, are now officially set to migrate from Zimbabwe to become part of FBC Holdings limited between 17 and 19 May 2024.
In a text message sent to its clients, Standard Chartered Bank of Zimbabwe said,
“Dear Client, The migration of Standard Chartered Bank Zimbabwe Limited (SCBZ) to FBC Holdings Limited (FBCH) is scheduled to take place from 17 May 2024 at 1400hrs to the end of day 19 May 2024. Consider making upcoming payments ahead of time, as some transactions and product offerings will not be available during this downtime period. You will be issued with a new VISA debit card by 17 May 2024. For your banking convenience, digital services from 20 May 2024 will be available through the FBCH digital platforms – Online Banking FBC Online Banking; Mobile Banking (*220#) and Wallet services (*151*8#). Standard Chartered Bank of Zimbabwe came to Zimbabwe in the 1890s.Stanchart as they are popularly known are main sponsors of England’s greatest European, UEFA Champions league team, Liverpool who have the English record of Six Champions league trophies.
The bank also first signed up as Liverpool’s club’s main sponsor in July 2010, making the partnership one of the longest in the Premier league.Liverpool FC and it’s principal partner Standard Chartered won the 20/20 Vision Award at this year’s UK Sponsorship Awards.As it stands, Standard Chartered will remain Liverpool’s main shirt sponsor until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, after signing a four year extension in July 2022.
