Zimbabwe will this Wednesday join the world to commemorate the World Post Day In Beitbridge as government’s way of appreciating the immense contribution the postal sector is making in the economy.
While the postal mail service has died a natural death due to alternative technological solutions, Zimbabwe and the global economies are still using other courier services to send and receive parcels.
The courier business today stands as the cornerstone of postal services, with today’s generation being purely ignorant of the mailing services which only a few today use to send school assignments and critical documents.
The commemoration in Zimbabwe starts off with a road show on Tuesday 14, November in the border town promoting awareness of the service in the community. Wednesday The 15th will be the formal day of commemorations.
ICT and Postal companies will be fully represented on this day where the minister of ICT Postal and courier services is billed to address the community.
