Zimbabwe’s mobile voice traffic experienced a robust 10.3% increase, reaching 4.65 billion minutes in the third quarter of 2025. According to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), the growth was driven by significant increases in on-net and interconnect traffic, which rose by 8.63% and 24.65%, respectively.

The increase in mobile voice traffic is attributed to the provision of voice bundles that allow for both on-net and off-net calls. Econet, NetOne, and Telecel contributed to the growth, with NetOne seeing a notable 18.51% increase in voice traffic.

Econet’s voice traffic grew by 9.14% to 4.03 billion minutes, while NetOne’s voice traffic increased by 18.51% to 617.86 million minutes. Telecel’s voice traffic also saw a modest growth of 11.10% to 1.05 million minutes.

The growth in mobile voice traffic is a positive indicator of Zimbabwe’s growing digital economy. The regulator continues to work with operators to ensure that consumers have access to quality and affordable voice services.
