A new Software Developer Skills Development Hub is set to open in Harare to prepare Zimbabwean developers for roles in Africa’s growing cloud and AI economy, following an MOU between Liquid Intelligent Technologies and the Government of Zimbabwe.
The hub will offer hands-on training in software development, digital analytics, AI, and cybersecurity, supported by Liquid’s cloud infrastructure and high-speed connectivity. The program is designed to produce job-ready talent for both local firms and regional projects.
Trainees will also access mentorship, startup incubation, and internships connected to Liquid’s operations in more than 40 markets across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. The Ministry of Skills Audit and Development will coordinate with academic institutions to ensure relevance to national priorities.
Minister Dr J. Muswere said the partnership supports Zimbabwe’s goal of becoming a “digitally connected, technologically sovereign upper-middle-income society.” Liquid, a business of Cassava Technologies, operates one of Africa’s largest fibre networks and works with global cloud and cybersecurity partners.
