“International partnerships will be key to Zimbabwe’s AI success, as they will enable the country to access global expertise and resources,” Dr Dingumuzi Phuti, Deputy Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, said this at the Zimbabwe National Artificial intelligence Strategy launched by President Mnangagwa on Friday at the New Parliament building in Mount Hampden.
The AI Strategy is expected to create new opportunities for Zimbabweans, particularly in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. The government is working with stakeholders to establish a National AI Innovation Fund to support AI startups.
The fund will provide funding and mentorship to AI startups, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the sector. The government is committed to working with the private sector to drive AI adoption and promote digital transformation.
