Frecon Solar Unveils Kumusha SP610 Solar Pumping Inverter 

Frecon Solar has introduced the Kumusha SP610 solar pumping inverter, a homegrown innovation designed to give farmers and industries reliable access to water while cutting fuel and electricity costs.

Developed by Engineer Farai Mandinenga and his team, the SP610 drives any AC pump directly from solar and can automatically switch to ZESA power or a generator when sunlight is low.

Equipped with advanced MPPT technology and protective features against dry runs, overload, and overheating, the inverter is built to deliver maximum efficiency and durability under demanding conditions.

“This technology offers a lifeline to farmers who need consistent irrigation while reducing dependence on diesel and the grid,” Mandinenga said.

From Mashonaland’s tobacco estates to Midlands maize fields and Lowveld cotton farms, growers are expected to benefit through healthier crops, higher yields, and more stable export quality.

The device also promises to lower operational costs for agribusinesses such as Premier Leaf, creating opportunities for stronger supply chains and better support for out-grower networks.
