The fight against cybercrime will take centre stage in Nyanga this September, when technology leaders, financial experts, and policymakers gather for the highly anticipated Cyber Fraud Summit 2025. The event, scheduled for 23rd to 26th September at the Montclair Resort & Conference, will run under the theme “Digital Trust: Bridging the Gap in Cyber, AI, and Financial Investigations.”

Hosted by MorniPac International, the summit aims to create a platform where leaders in technology, business, and government can confront the realities of cyber fraud in an age dominated by artificial intelligence and rapid digital transformation. The Guest of Honour will be the Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Hon. T. Mavetera, while the proceedings will be facilitated by Dr. W. Rukanda.

The event has drawn an impressive lineup of experts who will explore the growing impact of artificial intelligence on cybersecurity, financial trust, and fraud detection. Among the speakers are Prof. Mehluli Ncube, Dr. D. Magaya, Dr. R. Kadubei, Dr. C. Hurungwe, Dr. S. Chikonopa, Dr. I. Gomera, and several other specialists in corporate governance, fintech, and digital security. Together, they will bring diverse expertise to the urgent conversations on how governments, industries, and financial institutions can prepare for increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

This year’s discussions will emphasize the importance of digital trust in a modern economy where data has become the new oil. The Summit will delve into issues such as artificial intelligence-driven fraud, digital identity, blockchain, mobile financial systems, cyber procurement fraud, anti-money laundering, and compliance in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape. It will also address the risks of deepfakes, social engineering, and the emerging challenges posed by generative AI, quantum computing, and the Internet of Things.

Beyond discussions, participants will benefit from practical simulations, demonstrations, and drills designed to strengthen incident response, crisis preparedness, and fraud prevention capabilities. The training is accredited with 24 CPD points, making it not only a knowledge-sharing platform but also a professional development opportunity.

Ultimately, the Cyber Fraud Summit 2025 seeks to strengthen trust in the digital economy by promoting resilience, ethical AI adoption, and robust cybersecurity frameworks. With Zimbabwe and the region advancing deeper into digital transformation, the summit provides a timely opportunity for collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of strategies to combat cybercrime.
