NetOne, the country’s 2nd largest mobile network operator has an opportunity to respond to the market with an affordable, bigger, flexible and reliable service to the data hungry market especially at this time, when its competition has dropped the ball, and completely disregarded its mobile subscribers.
The mobile network has a mandate and responsibility to connect millions of Zimbabweans with a current market share of under 30%, NetOne commands around 4 million subscribers while Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has around 10.8 million, however the biggest differentiator today is mainly data and mobile money services.

There is currently no competition in the data market in Zimbabwe, and this laxity has exposed millions to erratic data tariffs where only profitability is the reason for the season, in this global village, alas at the 4th industrial Revolution right at the peak of the Internet Revolution, something must give.
While Starlink launch has already been felt, no mobile service has responded with a package that will match or at least bring comfort against Starlink’s fixed or mobile service , especially when its finally available for Harare, a move which NetOne must respond and fill up the gap while the market is still begging.
Of course the idea of infinity data, or unlimited data access over mobile devices in Zimbabwe is untannable and less profitable, but this does not mean that nothing significant can be offered to match up.
Zimbabweans are simply asking for a little much more data allocation on the already existing bandwidth and infrastructure but at the best cost effective prize tag that allows the service providers to keep going, for both mobile and fixed market , the demand for home and individual connectivity is still huge and must be served graciously according to mandate.
Opportunity favors the prepared, and NetOne must fill in this gap now or never as millions of Zimbabweans are currently in disarray, crying out for internationally or regionally aligned data daily routines .
Millions of Zimbabweans today are in need of reliable, affordable and mobile data service, a package that is a must have for this ever evolving data market that heavily depends on ubiquitous connectivity on the go and fixed sites.
A fairly reasonable package with generous amount of data is what NetOne needs right now if at all it dreams of gaining its market share, cutting a bigger piece on the subscriber market as it stands to give a reason for anyone to either use or migrate to their services.
The secret is all up in the numbers and market capitalization and the onus is on the team NetOne captain to sail the ship towards this low hanging market as strong enabler to wards market acquisition.
To whom much is given much is demanded, and heads must come together at the 16th floor to cook that product that will redefine the digital revolution. The mobile network has a mandate and responsibility to connect millions of Zimbabweans.
