Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) launches in Magistrates’ Courts across Mashonaland Central and Matabeleland North provinces, a web-based platform digitizes entire court case lifecycles, eliminating paper documents and manual processes.
Key features of IECMS include online document filing and tracking, virtual hearings via video conferencing, real-time case progress updates, and electronic payments through popular Zimbabwean platforms like EcoCash and Paynow.
According to Judicial Service Commission spokesperson Mr. Daniel Nemukuyu, IECMS has already succeeded in superior courts and is now expanding to lower courts.
IECMS enhances efficiency and reduces delays, increases accessibility and transparency, makes legal processes cost-effective, and aligns Zimbabwe’s judicial system with global trends.
Implementation details include upgraded internet and network infrastructure at courts, distribution of essential hardware like laptops and desktops, and training provided for court staff, prosecutors, and police officers.
