Postal Regulatory Authority Of Zimbabwe on Friday night announced the top 5 winners of the The second edition of the POTRAZ Hackthon challenge which saw the first prize winner walking away with $5 million RTGS
While the competition had many participants, we strongly felt that many talented coders and developers out there somehow did not heed the call to applications judging on the quality of the submissions.
The biggest winner of $5million RTGS was Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) Tech for Effective
Delivery of Medical Essentials (UAVTEDME) (Team LK FlighTech) .
They focused on producing tailor made Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) technologies that help in improving the Health service
delivery of Zimbabwe.
The second edition of the POTRAZ Hackthon, which is being run under the National ICT Innovation Drive is running under the theme aptly dubbed “#Hacking for SDGs post COVID19 and beyond” ,
(2) Egg Incubator (Team Farm Innovation Team – FIT) – automated egg incubator which can be remotely monitored and controlled for optimization landed te $4.5millon prize.
(3) Smart Agriculture Solutions (Team SAS) – managing farms using
modern Information and Communication Technologies to increase the quantity and quality
of products while optimizing the human labour required and reducing cost. It works with the
help of wireless sensors that can send data to a monitor wirelessly.
(4) Virtual Clinic (Team DIGICARE) – remote virtual medical health platform that offers immediate access to health
consultation services and medication delivery to patients.
(5) Drone Virtual Tours (Team ZOBOT) – a drone-based, real-time streaming system that provides a virtual tour
