The creation of a Pan African startup ecosystem is important especially now that the tech space is open, Impact Hub Harare Co-founder Tadzoka Pswarayi has said.

She said this while addressing other African startups in Mozambique at the just ended Seedstars Africa Summit.

“I was sharing about how We need to build a pan African Ecosystem together,” Pswarayi briefed TechnoMag.

Pswarayi said this can easily be facilitated with Africans’ adoption of latest technology trends.

Zimbabwe’s digital penetration is also up as displayed by how Zimbabweans are carrying the nation’s flag high with amazing innovations that match global standards.

“This is also true of Zimbabwe where we use any issues as an excuse to innovate,” Pswarayi said.

She has faith  that with what Zimbabwe has, brighter days in the tech space beckon. She also opined that partnerships are important.

‘Our infrastructure is robust. We have a bright future ahead. We should collaborate and make scalable solutions,” said the Impact Hub Harare co-founder.

About five Zimbabwean startups travelled to Mozambique for the Seedstars Africa Summit when initially one who won the Local Seedstars leg was supposed to go. This year’s edition of Seedstars Harare was won by MyRunner, a startup with an application that eases bus-booking.

One of the take home point from the summit was the issue of digital apartheid. According to Pswarayi it is a bias in digital design.

“Digital apartheid is often accidental. But it excludes certain people from benefiting from the technology like only producing right handed scissors,” Tadzoka explained.
