CBZ Holdings is targeting 500 000 customers to hop onto its flagship mobile application CBZ Touch by year end. The bank also bagged two awards namely the Mobile money, digital payments award for for the banking sector and Best Corporate social responsibility in the banking sector CBZ .
CBZ last year launched the mobile application found on Google Play Store and Apple Store which integrates all banking and payment services. The application as at February this year had over 17 000 downloads. In his acceptance speech, CBZ head of e-banking and card services Saul Chin’anga boasted of the growth of customers downloading the application.
“Thank you for the acknowledgement and at CBZ we have about 450 000 customers that are on our CBZ Touch and that’s not a small number,” he said.
He said they are looking forward to have about 500 000 customers using the application.
“The numbers are growing and we hope by next year we will be more than half a million,” he said.
The application’s integration with Ecocash is proving to be a force to reckon in the market. CBZ in May opened up self service centres where customers can access banking services.
Mobile money, digital payments award for the Telecommunications Sector went to Econet Wireless with Zimswitch grabbing the Best e-Commerce platform provider.
Nyaradzo had the Best Digital Insurance solution while OK Zimbabwe won the Best mobile and digital payment award for merchants.
