By He was invited to speak at the phenomenal Mandela Washington Fellowship Summit for 2017 in Washington DC where he shared the floor with other great leaders like Dr Helen Gayle and Mr Tony Elumelu.
In his address, Moyo shared thoughts from his book Rumble in the Jungle that delves into leadership from an African perspective. He also spoke of his work experience in Africa and how true leadership stems from the top blended with values of integrity and leaving a lasting legacy. For Mr. Moyo, “If a few individuals can cause impact on a corporate level, it can be done on a national level and provide transformation.”
The Summit held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, was attended by both African and American leaders, young African students and organisations. The Mandela Washington Fellowship is a life changing initiative that is growing global thought leadership across continents and investing in the next generation of African leaders.
Mr Norman Moyo is currently a Group Executive at Econet, a Pan African Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT) Company. Within this role his responsibilities include being substantive CEO of Cumii, a Pan African Internet of Things (IoT) company, CEO of Distributed Power Africa (DPA – a renewable energy solution firm) & Group COO of Kwese.
He has a well-rounded experience gained whilst working in various African countries like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa. In 2011 Norman was nominated for the prestigious GTB global top 40 world telecom leaders under 40 years as a result of his work in Nigeria.
He holds an Honours Degree in Economics, an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe and London Business school training.
He too has a passion in disseminating information which is evidenced by the book “Rumble in The Jungle, Leadership from an African Perspective” he published in 2014.
