Pan African telecommunications firm Liquid Telecommunication provided its high-speed internet to ensure that Africa’s first ever international e-Sport tournament held over the weekend in Kenya.
The event dubbed Comic-Cons saw gaming buffs converge in Nairobi as they tried changing Africa to a gaming hub.
According to GamersNights, there were teams travelling from Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya competing for $1,500 in cash prizes at the first African international e-sports tournament.
At least 3,500 attendees made it to the event facilitated through cross-border fibre network that runs from the north of Uganda to Cape Town, covering the developing cities in between.
According to Liquid Telecom’s network map, they cover a wide range of regions, stretching from the border of South Sudan to the edge of the Congo – more than 50,000 kilometers of fibre network infrastructure.
