The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), in collaboration with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), is set to host the POTRAZ-NUST ICT Research Symposium 2026 from October 26 to 28 at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Bulawayo.
The nation’s technology sector is gearing up for Zimbabwe’s premier platform dedicated to advancing ICT research, innovation, and knowledge exchange. This year’s event runs under the theme: “Harnessing Emerging Digital Technologies for Industrial Transformation and Socioeconomic Advancement in Zimbabwe.”
The three-day symposium aims to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and policy. It serves as a collaborative gathering where researchers, students, government representatives, regulators, tech entrepreneurs, and international development partners assemble to showcase cutting-edge solutions and drive Zimbabwe’s digital transformation agenda.
Attendees can look forward to a comprehensive lineup of events, including keynote addresses by renowned international and local ICT experts, masterclasses, and prototype demonstrations highlighting breakthrough innovations. Research paper presentations will focus on critical modern topics such as emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and data protection.
Interactive panel sessions will further explore pressing digital transformation challenges and policy frameworks. Outstanding research contributions will also be recognized with Best Paper Awards.
As Zimbabwe steps into an increasingly digital economy, the joint effort between POTRAZ and NUST underscores a national commitment to fostering local tech talent, promoting research-driven policies, and empowering industry stakeholders.
