NetOne joined thousands of Zimbabweans yesterday in the Mega National Clean-Up Campaign, reaffirming that sustainable development needs both digital and environmental infrastructure.
From Harare to Zvishavane, and from Masvingo to Nyanga, NetOne teams worked with local authorities, schools and residents to remove litter and raise awareness.
*Generational Impact*
Partnerships with Quinton Junior School in Chitungwiza and Herentals College in Bindura focused on instilling environmental consciousness early.
According to NetOne Spokesperson Public Relations Manager Ernest Magadzire the Telcos is leaving no litter behind.
“Every piece of litter removed contributes to a cleaner environment and reinforces Zimbabwe’s image as a welcoming destination for both local and international visitors.”
*Protecting Natural Heritage*
The Nyanga leg highlighted how clean-ups safeguard biodiversity and tourism.
“Protecting destinations such as Nyanga is particularly important because our environment is one of our greatest national assets.”
Magadzire said the telco’s duty covers its full footprint:
“Every NetOne recharge voucher, SIM card packaging and promotional material that is carelessly discarded has the potential to pollute the very communities we serve. Through initiatives such as the Mega National Clean-Up Campaign, we are encouraging every Zimbabwean to become a responsible environmental steward.”
NetOne says it will continue mobilising communities and strengthening partnerships to build a cleaner Zimbabwe for future generations.
