Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming every aspect of the world, and the telecommunications sector is no exception, the Postal Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) 2024 Annual Strategic Planning workshop held today focused on advancing telecommunications landscape in Zimbabwe.
In a bid step to modernize Zimbabwe’s telecommunications sector, the POTRAZ Board has prioritized AI integration as a central focus for 2025, aiming to enhance regulatory processes, service delivery, and internal operations.
Speaking at the Annual Strategic Workshop, POTRAZ Chairman Mr. Zvobgo Zvobgo emphasized the need for responsible innovation, highlighting the urgency of establishing robust regulatory frameworks to address data privacy, ethics, and potential AI misuse.
“Our mission is not merely to maintain standards but to elevate them, the year 2024 has been a testament to our resilience and adaptability, but we must approach 2025 with even greater boldness”.
In the coming years, AI is expected to radically alter the ways networks are managed, consumers are protected, and operational efficiency is enhanced and Potraz board is prioritizing AI integration as a central theme in 2025.
