NetOne Cellular says a clean environment is the foundation for a productive digital economy, as it rolled out its One Mega Clean-Up Campaign in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Midlands, Bindura and Chitungwiza
The monthly campaign is NetOne’s contribution to the National Clean-Up Programme launched by President Mnangagwa, observed every first Friday.
Partnerships are at the core.The Harare clean-up saw NetOne working with the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services and sister entities POTRAZ, TelOne, Zimpost and ZARNET. The collaboration was aimed at improving public spaces while promoting teamwork ac
ross the sector.
In other regions, NetOne teams joined local authorities, EMA, CBOs and residents’ associations in community clean-ups and awareness drives on recycling and waste management.
Devolution was in Action as NetOne Spokesperson PR Manager Ernest Magadzire said the campaign reflects the spirit of devolution by allowing provincial teams to partner directly with communities to solve local environmental problems.
“This is about shared responsibility. Government sets the policy, but communities and corporates must act,” Magadzire said.
Vision 2030 And Beyond speaking to the media, Ernest Magadzire said the initiative aligns with NDS2 priorities on climate resilience and sustainable waste management.
“Building a digitally connected Zimbabwe must go hand in hand with building clean, healthy and sustainable communities,” he said.
NetOne added that as the country prepares for Heroes and Defence Forces commemorations, the company remains committed to the values of service and nation-building through projects that uplift communities.
The operator said it will continue to use its national footprint to drive environmental stewardship, digital inclusion and inclusive development.
