Econet held 81.20% of Zimbabwe’s mobile internet/data traffic in Q4 2025, POTRAZ reported.

That equals 130.18 PB, up 9.79% from the previous quarter.

NetOne gained 1.14 points to reach 18.69% with 29.97 PB, up 18.50%.

Telecel ceded 0.05 points, falling 20.22% to 179,817 MB.

Total mobile data traffic surged 11.27% to 160.33 PB.

WhatsApp accounted for 20.69% of traffic, YouTube 9.53%, Facebook 7.89%, and X 0.40%.

“Other” apps made up 61.48%, driven by TikTok, Instagram and Netflix.

Internet penetration rose to 84.55% with 13.25 million subscriptions.

Mobile penetration hit 107.04% with 16.78 million active SIMs.

47 new 5G and 167 LTE sites were deployed in the quarter.

Econet added 42 5G sites to reach 340 total.

NetOne added 5 5G sites to reach 26.

POTRAZ said data-intensive apps are driving traffic growth alongside 5G rollout.
