The boardroom has officially been disrupted.

Liquid Home Zimbabwe’s latest creative, “His office doesn’t have walls,” is more than an ad. It’s a statement about how Zimbabweans now work, and where work can happen.

The visual is deliberate: a senior executive, golf glove on, phone in hand, closing a deal on the fairway at sunset. The copy: “Move business with Free public Wi-Fi, close deals right there and then. Your city is LIVE. FREE Wi-Fi, Anytime, Anywhere.”

This is the front-end of a massive infrastructure play that Liquid quietly switched on early this year.

At the core is Liquid FREE Wi-Fi – the company’s public hotspot network offering 4 hours of free high-speed internet to anyone with a Wi-Fi-enabled device, and unlimited free access at all major airports in Zimbabwe. The network is now live at 700+ public access points nationwide – from hotels, restaurants and coffee shops to malls, CBDs and airports.

There is no subscription, no voucher purchase, no Liquid account needed. You simply open Wi-Fi settings, select “Liquid Free WiFi” and you are online. It runs on the company’s carrier-grade FibroniX backbone, which means the free tier is not throttled public Wi-Fi of the past.

For Liquid Home, which is part of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, the strategy is two-fold.

First, it’s a digital inclusion play. With mobile data costs still prohibitive for students, job seekers and informal traders, four free hours can mean a completed assignment, a virtual interview, or a day of running a WhatsApp business without burning bundles. Analysts have called it the most aggressive free-data intervention since the introduction of bundles.

Second, it’s a customer acquisition funnel. Once users experience FibroniX speeds on the go, the company is betting they will convert to its premium home products like FibroniX Unlimited and FibroniX On The Go, which lets subscribers use their home data at any Liquid hotspot at no extra cost via the myLiquid Home app.

The timing is perfect. Zimbabwe’s hybrid work culture has exploded post-COVID. SMEs, consultants, real estate agents and creatives are no longer tied to a desk. What they need is reliable connectivity that follows them.

Liquid’s message nails it: “Business doesn’t only happen in boardrooms anymore. Your workspace can be anywhere. All you need is a connection that keeps up.”

That question at the end of its social post – “Where would you work if your office had no walls?” – is now live on socials with #LiquidHome #YourCityIsLIVE #WhereSpeedLives.
