#FridayHacks: How To Protect Your Nudes

Dethroned Miss Zimbabwe 2015, Emily Kachote and Tinopona Katsande are among some of the people in Zimbabwe to have suffered major setbacks when their nudes were leaked. In this day and age of smartphones, internet and social media, the taking of intimate pictures is not a new thing, but its hard to keep what’s private ‘private’ after you have taken nude pictures of yourself and have them stored in your phone just for the fun of it or for sexting. Here is how to protect your nudes.

The leaking of nudes and sexually explicit content has made or ruined people’s lives, careers, marriages and reputation, but now, thanks to Nude, a new mobile App that helps scan for nudes, moving them to a protected vault in the app and then deleting them from the camera roll, your nudes may be better protected from those who are not supposed to lay their eyes on them or distribute them inappropriately.

Its not just about the risk of having your nudes leaked, but having them in the camera roll means that you won’t feel comfortable having someone go through your gallery as they will see images of you they are not supposed to see.

Zimbabwean laws prohibit the taking of, storing and sharing of nudes as they are considered to be pornography. Who are we kidding, there are a lot of people who are taking nudes nowadays; the website musvozimbabwe is dedicated to the unearthing of explicit content of Zimbabweans who would have bared it all in front of the camera.

There are many apps that creates a secure, password-protected folder on your camera roll for storing nudes, but what the Nude app does is that, unlike other apps out there, it automatically scans your computer for any explicit content and and store them in a secure vault, so that you don’t have to manually do it.

For now, the app is available on App store, only for iPhones and not for android users, which may be many in these parts of the world. Hopefully they will have an android version soon.

I will always maintain this, no app is more secure at protecting the privacy of your nudes than not having any nudes in your phone to begin with. But if you must have some, this might be the next best thing.
