Breaking: NetOne Silently Unveils One Money

NetOne will this month officially launch its new mobile money service dubbed 1 money  (one money),  putting the rest in peace placard over the now-defunct One Wallet, which dismally failed to impress the market even after its Re-Launch.

Ex ICT Minister Webster Shamu relaunching One wallet

Their mobile money service will be launched with a local debit card which is already operational, as many shops around Harare are now testing the functional service ahead of the launch. Speaking to a NetOne executive, he confirmed that they have been running the service for the past two months, as they test the new platform before the official launch.

“For the past two months, we have connected most service providers to the One Money platform while we test its full integration with ZimSwitch before we open the international gateway for the Visa card, this will help thousands of people to transact easily as the most affordable rates”

The 1 money platform launches as Zimbabwe faces its worst cash crunch in history, forcing mobile money agents to stop issuing cash outs. The mobile money service is now only relevant as a payment platform, as the money transfer business is breathing his last in Zimbabwe.

1 Money (One Money) may have finally completed the puzzle by roping in all Zimbabwe banks as the platform will also be connected to ZIPIT.
