Zimbabwe has been elected to the Council of Administration of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) at the 28th UPU Congress in Dubai.
The Council of Administration is made up of 41 countries drawn from the UPU’s 192 member states. It oversees the continuity of the organisation’s work between congresses and ensures the smooth running of its policies and programmes.
Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera said, “This achievement is a strong vote of confidence in our nation’s leadership under President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, and a recognition of Zimbabwe’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity and global collaboration”.
