The 115th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) commenced in Harare today, attracting more than 500 exhibitors.
Running under the theme “Building Bridges: Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Communities,” the week-long showcase has drawn both local and international participants, positioning itself as a critical platform for farmers, industry players and investors.
ZAS Chief Executive Officer Rufaro Alfred Gunundu said preparations had gone smoothly, with over 79,500 square metres of exhibition space already occupied.

“We are expecting a good agricultural show this season. We are happy about the preparations and the strong response from exhibitors. The show remains a key platform to showcase the achievements of Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector and engage on opportunities and challenges affecting the industry,” Gunundu said.
This year’s edition has recorded a notable rise in exhibitors, from 430 last year to 505, with late entries expected to push the number closer to 580. Twelve international exhibitors are also taking part, representing Pakistan, Nigeria, Brazil, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, India, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.
The event began today with a schools quiz competition, while tomorrow will feature a high-level business conference and an exhibitors’ cocktail. Other highlights include a media awards ceremony and an agricultural excellence indaba on Thursday.
The official opening will take place on Friday at the Glamis Arena, combined with prize-giving and entertainment. The showcase will conclude on Saturday night with fireworks and a music concert.
Exhibitors such as the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), which runs several prison farms, were still finalising their stands last night. Organisers have also confirmed 1,636 entries for agricultural produce competitions from 112 farmers across the country.
The ZAS continues to stand as one of Zimbabwe’s largest business events, with brisk trade and networking opportunities anticipated throughout the week.
