Zimbabwe’s newest Internet Service Provider (ISP) is coming in strong, as they flex their muscles on their already existent wholesale broadband asset they have.

Dolphin Telecoms, trading as Dtel Zimbabwe, has officially launched Data-Only SIM cards with a massive 500GB bundle for just $65 per month with nationwide coverage.

The mobile SIM card which works on already existing Econet and Liquid backbone infrastructure is tinkering around more data service offer as they push out their internet service provision to an untapped market in a creative manner.

The announcement was made on its official page: “NEW FROM DOLPHIN: DATA-ONLY SIM CARDS ARE HERE! We’re coming in strong with 500GB for just $65/month and nationwide coverage. Be among the first to get connected. Stock is limited and available only until we reach full capacity.”

According to the promo poster, the offer is under limited stock and will be available until full capacity is reached.

What Dolphin Is Offering

Unlike traditional SIMs that focus on voice, SMS and data, Dolphin is starting with a pure data play – a Data-Only SIM targeting homes, small businesses, gamers, streamers and anyone tired of bundle top-ups.

For $65/month, users get 500GB, which puts it in the same league as home fibre and LTE packages from Liquid Home, TelOne and the mobile networks, but with the advantage of mobility and nationwide coverage.

The poster shows a strong emphasis on social and work apps – Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, email – with the tagline “GET CONNECTED.”

Why It Matters

Dolphin Telecoms is the new operator recently licensed by POTRAZ, reselling whole sale five from already existing Internet Access Providers. .

The timing is strategic. Zimbabwe is in the middle of a data price war. NetOne is pushing a $25 Huawei CPE router with 15GB free, Econet is offering the B320 at $48 with 15GB on Smart Suite, and now Dolphin is undercutting on volume with 500GB for $65.

For context, $65 for 500GB works out to about $0.13 per GB – one of the cheapest per-GB rates for mobile data in Zimbabwe if the speeds and coverage hold.

Limited Stock Warning

Dolphin says stock is limited and the offer is available only until it reaches full capacity – a common approach for new networks that are managing core network load as they scale.

Users who want to be among the first can sign up now via Dolphin Telecoms-Dtel Zimbabwe social pages and WhatsApp channel, as listed on the advert.
