Zimbabwe is positioning itself to capture opportunities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution through a new Software Developer Skills Development Hub established under a Memorandum of Understanding between Liquid Intelligent Technologies and the Government of Zimbabwe.
The hub will train local talent in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital analytics, cybersecurity, and software development. The focus is on building a pipeline of skilled developers who can support domestic digital transformation while also delivering services to regional and global markets.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a business of Cassava Technologies, will provide high-speed connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and AI compute resources. The Ministry of Skills Audit and Development will coordinate with universities, technical colleges, and development partners to ensure the curriculum aligns with industry demand and Vision 2030.
“This program ensures Zimbabwe participates in the 4IR not only as a consumer but also as a creator, innovator, and inventor,” said Honourable Minister Dr J. Muswere. Officials say the initiative will reduce reliance on imported skills and strengthen the country’s digital sovereignty.
