Used international incoming internet bandwidth capacity rose 10.88% to 604,440 Mbps in Q4 2025, POTRAZ reported.

Outgoing bandwidth increased 4.85% to 212,298 Mbps.

Total equipped capacity grew 6.46% to 1,688,770 Mbps.

African Fibre Networks led growth with a 76.92% increase to 230,000 Mbps.

Liquid holds 68.10% at 1,150,000 Mbps, unchanged.

TelOne has 11.55% at 195,000 Mbps, also unchanged.

Powertel increased 2.99% to 69,000 Mbps, or 4.08% share.

Starlink’s traffic surge of 42.76% to 168.21 PB drove capacity demand.

Video apps like YouTube at 9.53% and “Other” at 61.48% require high bandwidth.

WhatsApp’s 20.69% share adds symmetric demand.

Internet penetration hit 84.55% with 13.25 million subscriptions.

5G sites reached 366, requiring high-capacity backhaul.

POTRAZ said bandwidth growth is critical for digital services.
