The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) has announced a 100% penalty waiver for vehicle licensing arrears, encouraging motorists to take advantage of the amnesty.ZINARA announced this promotion at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) which began yesterday ending on the weekend.

The waiver applies to payments made at all ZINARA licensing offices, through licensed agents nationwide, and at selected tollgates.

“This initiative is expected to boost revenue inflows while enhancing compliance levels across the country,” said a ZINARA spokesperson.

Motorists have been urged to take advantage of the window period, with ZINARA noting that the offer is time-bound and subject to terms and conditions.

The road authority has previously introduced similar compliance measures during major national events to encourage motorists to clear outstanding dues.

The 100% penalty waiver is a significant relief for motorists who have been struggling to pay their licensing fees.

ZINARA said the move is part of efforts to improve road safety and maintenance in Zimbabwe.

The authority has been working to improve its services and make it easier for motorists to comply with licensing requirements.

The waiver applies to penalties only, and not to the outstanding licence fees.

Motorists are advised to check their accounts and settle any outstanding fees to avoid penalties after the waiver period ends.

“We are committed to providing relief to motorists and improving road safety,” said a ZINARA spokesperson.

The waiver is expected to benefit thousands of motorists across the country.

ZINARA has assured motorists that the waiver is a genuine effort to improve compliance and road safety.

The authority will continue to work with stakeholders to improve road safety and maintenance in Zimbabwe.

The 100% penalty waiver is available until May 2, 2026.
