Huawei Zimbabwe has officially closed its mobile phone business amid serious operational viability issues, forcing the international giant to close its terminal business.

Huawei Zimbabwe has been scaling down its operations on its the mobile side of business or terminal devision since the year began and as of 31 August, has completely closed down the department

Employees who were working in the department were either resigned or assigned to other productive arms of the business, but most of them have joined local players” said a source

The Huawei Zimbabwe country manager, Mr Robert Gonye who effectively terminated his contract before the shutdown has confirmed the developments and stated that he is now looking at advancing his career.
