ICT Africa Expo Kicks Off

The 32nd edition of ICT Africa Expo began yesterday with two companies said to have pulled out of the exhibition.

When this reporter arrived at the expo, some exhibitors were still setting up their stands but later in the day, there was some activity.

As is norm with the first day of an exhibition, this year’s edition had few members of the public  visiting various stands. In the morning, the exhibition area was virtually empty of the public but as the day progressed, exhibitors were receiving some people.

Speaking to TechnoMag, the event’s lead organiser  Masimba Chigama said the exhibition was two companies less.

The event’s coordinator Ant Mellon said the 32nd edition due to economic challenges will not have a conference.

“There is no conference this year we were trying to have one but us and the computer society of Zimbabwe. They have the summer school in the falls they are focusing on that rather. To have two exhibitions in a year is bit difficult but you never know, maybe in the future we will be able to do it,” he said.
