The Internet Society Zimbabwe Chapter (ISOC) has launched the #EmpowerZimWomen project, an initiative designed to bridge the digital divide for women in Zimbabwe. This follows a successful three-day training program aimed at equipping participants with essential digital skills and knowledge.
According to ISOC, the initiative is supported by key organizations, including the Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre and Network, Girls in Tech Zimbabwe, and Google Women Techmakers. These partners have come together to empower women by offering training in crucial digital areas such as coding, online security, and digital entrepreneurship.
“The #EmpowerZimWomen project is officially in motion after a successful 3-day training. Huge thanks to GirlsinTechZim, ZWRCN, AfridigitalZW, and Google Women Techmakers for their support!” read a recent tweet from ISOC on X.
The project aims to foster a more inclusive tech ecosystem, encouraging greater female participation and innovation. By providing women with opportunities to enhance their digital skills, the initiative seeks to promote greater representation and leadership within Zimbabwe’s technology sector.
