ZIMRA Updates Tax Administration with TaRMS Launch

Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) Commissioner General, Ms. Regina Chinamasa, officially commissioned the Tax and Revenue Management System (TaRMS). The new system promises to redefine the way ZIMRA serves the public, with simpler processes, improved transparency, and greater efficiency.

The TaRMS launch signals a bold step towards modern, transparent, and efficient tax administration in Zimbabwe, with TaRMS, taxpayers can expect faster registration and issuance of Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TINs), integrated data for better insights and decision-making, and improved taxpayer support and service delivery.

The system has already shown tangible benefits, including faster registration and issuance of TINs. ZIMRA is also planning to introduce innovative features such as mobile tax apps, AI-assisted services, and digital payment solutions.

The successful implementation of TaRMS is a result of strong collaboration and dedication from various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, the African Development Bank, and the ZIMRA Board.

Ms. Chinamasa emphasized that TaRMS is more than just technology – it’s a step towards realizing ZIMRA’s mission to be a beacon of excellence in revenue administration, contributing to Zimbabwe’s economic growth and national development agenda. The Commissioner General invited all stakeholders to engage fully with the system and share in the vision of a smarter, more connected, and citizen-focused revenue administration.

With TaRMS, ZIMRA is poised to transform the tax administration landscape in Zimbabwe, enhancing compliance, and making it easier for taxpayers to meet their obligations.
