Samsung Brings New AI and Camera Features to GaSamsung has started rolling out One UI 9, the company’s latest software update for Galaxy smartphones, bringing new artificial intelligence features, camera improvements and tools designed to make everyday phone use easier.
The rollout began on September 16, 2026, initially reaching the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung had previously introduced One UI 9 on its latest foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8.
A major focus of the update is Galaxy AI. Samsung says the latest version is designed to provide more personalised and useful assistance, helping users perform tasks, create content and understand information with less effort.
One of the new camera related features is My FanCam. The feature can automatically follow a selected person in recorded video and keep that person centred in the frame. It intelligently adjusts the framing as the person moves, which could be useful for people recording sports, performances, school events or family occasions.
The update also introduces new ways for users to personalise the information displayed on their phones and manage their devices. Samsung says One UI 9 is designed to provide a smoother experience across different Galaxy form factors, including traditional smartphones and foldable devices.
Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of the smartphone market, and Samsung is using Galaxy AI to compete in an area where manufacturers are trying to make phones more helpful rather than simply more powerful.
