Econet has introduced EcoAI Tokens, a new service that allows users to access premium artificial intelligence tools for work, learning, research and creativity using airtime, with packages starting from US$0.10 per day.
The service is accessible through the EcoAI Tokens website https://ecoaitoken.co.zw/ where users can authenticate their Econet mobile numbers before accessing the AI platform.
To use the service, users are first asked to enter their Econet phone number on the EcoAI Tokens page. A verification code is then sent to the number, which the user enters on the platform to confirm their identity.
Once verification is complete, the platform recognises the user and displays their registered name. Users are then presented with options for the type of AI assistance they want to access.
The authentication process makes the service relatively straightforward to access, particularly for users who may not have access to international payment methods commonly required for premium AI subscriptions.
For students, the platform provides a simple entry point to AI tools that can support activities such as research, learning and writing. Instead of navigating separate platforms and payment systems, users can access the EcoAI service through the same authentication process linked to their Econet number.
The service also uses a token-based model, allowing users to access premium AI capabilities without necessarily committing to a conventional monthly subscription. Econet is promoting the service as a way for users to access AI using their existing mobile airtime.
