Thirty years ago, a mobile connection meant making a call or sending a text.
Today, it means a student can attend class, a farmer can check crop prices, and a business can reach customers across the country.
As NetOne celebrates 30 years, the state-owned operator says the focus is no longer just on connectivity, but on making that connectivity meaningful.
That vision is behind 30ForYou – a new offer giving customers 60GB for US$30 to mark three decades of service. The bundle includes 30GB anytime and 30GB off-peak data.
“Connecting people to possibility,” is how NetOne describes it.
Beyond data bundles, the company says it has invested in digital healthcare, education platforms, rural connectivity, and digital financial services through OneMoney.
The goal aligns with NDS2 and Vision 2030, which call for a digitally connected economy where technology drives jobs, agriculture, and inclusion.
“Thirty years ago, NetOne helped Zimbabwe make the connection. Today, the opportunity is to make that connection do more,” the company said.
With 60GB, a family can stay connected through calls, video and messaging. A young person can learn, create and participate in the digital economy.
For NetOne, 30 years deserves more than a thank-you. It deserves more data, more access, more opportunity.
