Shape Zim Digital Development&Growth – Mavetera

The Minister of Information Communication and Technology (ICT), and Courier Services, Dr. Tatenda Mavetera has implored the Telcos sector to shape Zimbabwe’s digital development and growth.

Dr. Mavetera was quoted saying this at the Zimbabwe Annual Telecommunications and Exhibition 2024, a coming together of telcos stockholders, professionals, policymakers and the ICT sector stakeholders in Harare last Friday.

“I would be remiss if I did not speak to the telecommunication industry about their important role in shaping the digital development and growth of Zimbabwe,” said Minister Mavetera.

Dr. Mavetera added, “All the digital development targets of the Government are anchored on the nation having efficient, accessible and affordable access to connectivity.”

The Minister of ICT said all stakeholders were given a chance to address some of the most daunting problems the ICT sector faces.

Mavetera also underpinned the significance of making sure there is ample universal access to telecommunications services for all Zimbabweans in line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.

“I want to take this opportunity to implore our operators to look into improving their quality of service. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is upon us and connectivity is the key to accessing this Fourth Industrial Revolution,” said Mavetera.
